Rather than a building, the new biolabs building is an abstract existence of an organic form integrated into the landscape. It appears as if a translucent cirrus ring floating in the green landscape, passing through existing trees. Because the curved biolabs’ structure floats slightly off the ground on pilotis, the space surrounded by the facility maintains a remarkable transparency and continuity with the surrounding landscape. Everywhere inside the building, people can feel as if surrounding by a nature very familiar to them, and enjoy the splendid views without obstacles. In this way, the new biolabs’ building creates a new quality of communication among researchers’ daily activities, architecture and landscape.
